My name is Sonja and I am from Germany. I moved in 2004 to the United States with my two kids. Since 2007 I live in Sacramento and started to go back to school to American River College,Sacramento. It was a very hard work to start from the bottom and it took me a couple of years to complete, but I had support from my family an friends. In 2013 I finished my program at American River College with a AA Degree in Social science, Liberal arts, and in Psychology so I could transfer to Sac State. When I started in Sac State I was planing to go into Social work, but I changed my major to Art History, concentration in Asian art. But in 2014 I figured out I want to work with kids, because I love Art and working with Kids. This summer 2015, I got an internship with Crocker Museum, Sacramento and it was a lot of fun, to work with kids and with different art teacher. With all the inspiration I got from different art teacher at the summer camp, I will incorporate the experence to create interesting art class. It was fun shadowed them by their work and be very grateful for the experience. In Fall 2016 I will graduate with a BA Degree in Art Education and my plan is to work with kids in a private setting such as, creating fun birthday parties, private art session, summer camps, or teaching in private schools. In the mean time I am working with the Art Gallery in Elk Grove and we are planning for 2016 to have some summer camp classes and I will be a big part of it. It will be very exeiting for me. Now you know "Who am I."
